This is Basque Design Merkatua

Azkuna Zentroa exhibits its creativity and design ecosystem in “This is Basque Design Merkatua” as part of Bilbao Bizkaia Design Week (BBDW) on 24, 25 and 26 November 2023.

Throughout the weekend, the thirty or so creators who make up the Azkuna Zentroa design community will be showing their projects and products in the Atrium, sharing their processes through encounters and workshops for different audiences.

“This is Basque Design Merkatua" is an opportunity to get to know the personal and professional project behind each project: local, quality and hand-crafted production committed to sustainability.

Abana, Aerre, Ailanto, Amakuyi, Ane Pikaza, Asier Irazabal + Hernán Quipildor, Bukinda, Cookplay, Elena Ciordia, The REAL Studio, Fournier, FTBCWL, Higi Vandis, Josune Urrutia, Katxi Klothing, Malús Arbide, Mario Gaztelu, Barock Jewelry, Kiribiltxo, MRLASPIUR, PaloPalú, Proyecto Hemen, Susana Blasco, Tytti Thusberg, Kreative Art, Nerea Gómez, Yolanda Sánchez, Ziriak, Zioru and more creators to be added in the coming months in the run up to November.

We will also have a space for the professional development of emerging designers, for which a call will be sent out soon for those interested in presenting their projects.

In addition, we will hold 4 workshops and meetings to increase socialisation and awareness of the importance of consuming local design and DIY.

The schedule will be as follows: 

Friday 24th from 16:30 to 20:30.

Saturday 25th from 11:00 to 20:30.

Sunday 26th from 11:00 to 15:00.
